Most people walk past the Foodland building on Soi 16 without a second thought. Take the lift to the eleventh floor and the city opens up in a way that does not make sense until you are standing in it. Sand courts. Open sky. Bangkok’s skyline pressing in from every direction.
Asoke Sports Club was among the first venues in Bangkok to establish proper pickleball courts. At the time, the sport was a curiosity, something expats had played abroad and occasionally tried to explain to Thai friends. ASC gave it a home and a community, and from that community the sport grew. Bangkok’s pickleball scene is substantial now, but Soi 16 is where much of that early energy was concentrated.
The beach volleyball courts have been here from the beginning. Three sand courts, proper coaching, sessions from complete beginners through to competitive players. The rooftop setting does something to the atmosphere that an indoor court cannot replicate. You are, technically, in the middle of one of the world’s busiest cities. It does not feel that way.
Mini golf rounds out the offering for anyone who prefers their competition at a lower heart rate.
